The Emmys are a diverse set of awards that recognize artistic and professional achievement in the American and global television industries. All through the year, a variety of major Emmy events are conducted, all according to their unique system of guidelines and prize titles.
The 50th Global Emmy Awards, 2022 saw 23 nations featured in 15 titles and 60 nominations, anchored by Penn & Teller’s Penn Jillette. The event was held in the NYC Hilton Midtown Hotel in Manhattan last Monday (November 21, 2012).
The British swept this year’s honours, taking home seven in all. France was the only other nation with multiple victories, with two awards. “Love on the Spectrum” from Australia received Non-Scripted Entertainment, while “Iraq’s Lost Generation” (France) was awarded the Best Documentary.
At the event, South Korean star Song Joong-ki awarded Miky Lee, vice chairperson of CJ Group, with the International Emmy Directorate Awards, while Ava DuVernay accepted the “International Emmy Founders Award” from Benjamin Bratt and Blair Underwood.
‘The King’s Affection’ competed against Brazil’s ‘Nos Tempos Do Imperador,’ Spain’s ‘Two Lives,’ and China’s ‘You Are My Hero,’ eventually earning the International Emmy Award – the first Korean show to receive the award.

Following Russia’s attack on Ukraine, all Russian programmes were barred from evaluation at this year’s Emmys.
