Dhanush gears up for his 50th movie

By Anila M. Vivek

National award-winning actor, producer, director, lyricist and playback singer Dhanush has good news for his fans. He has interesting movies lined up for release – a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and Arun Matheshwaran’s Captain Miller. He will also be seen in the sequel of the Hollywood film, The Gray Man.

The more exciting news is that the versatile actor is getting ready for his 50th movie. Having made his debut in a coming-of-age film, Thulluvadho Ilamai, in 2002, Dhanush has earned a huge fan following for his unique acting prowess and style over the years.

After a hugely successful collaboration with Sun Pictures last year, Dhanush joins the team again for D50. Their first venture was the massive hit Thiruchitrambalam, which was one of the biggest blockbusters of Tamil cinema in 2022.

Sun Pictures tweeted the announcement of D50 on Twitter with a poster. The poster does not reveal anything other than an image of a small town where smoke is shown to be rising from a building.

Meanwhile, the bilingual (titled Vaathi in Tamil and Sir in Telugu) will be released on February 17th this year. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film includes Samyuktha Menon, P Sai Kumar, and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles.
